Yes you wont get to see your own house, but you can actually use that simulator.

Are you referring to the slow-ish refresh rate of the aircrafts attitude in the Synthetic Vision view on the Maps page Im currently using 6 Hz for that, but ForeFlight allows up to 10 Hz, so I might try increasing it to 10 and see how it works out.
